Hike to Sauk Mountain, August 9

Join SYP for a hike up Sauk Mountain for incredible vistas of the Skagit River Valley!  We will meet at Business Bank in Burlington at 10 am on Saturday, August 9, and carpool to the base of Sauk Mountain.  The hike is 2.1 miles to the top, where we’ll picnic, take photos, and enjoy the lovely Skagit weather.  For more information, check out the official site.

Here are directions, in case you want to meet us there around 11:

From the Highway 20 Exit, go 40 miles east on Highway 20.  Turn left onto Forest Road 1030 (aka the Sauk Mountain Road) just before Rockport.  Follow this gravel road 8 miles to the trailhead parking lot.

We should reach the summit by 12:30 and be back in Burlington around 2:30.  Be sure to pack a lunch and plenty of water!
