The Forgotten Children’s Fund

Christmas, they say, is for kids.  But what about the children who wait for Santa and he never arrives?  For them, Christmas is the saddest time of the year.

This letter sparked the creation of The Forgotten Children’s Fund 32 years ago.  In the first year, 85 children in 21 families were visited by Santa Claus on Christmas Eve, with elves and gifts in tow.  Today, FCF is serving 2,800 children in over 800 families - with 100 of those families residing in Skagit County alone.

This Monday, Dick Nord will be leading the conversation at Kick Off Coffee.  He has been with the FCF since the beginning and is personally responsible for bringing the Christmas Spirit to some of the most needy in Skagit County.  Also a pillar in the community, please join us as we talk with Dick and find out more!

Red or blue?  We’ve got a great election-night party for Republicans, Democrats, and independents, too!  Join the Skagit Young Professionals on November 4 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Landed Gentry Model Home in the Montreaux Community for a great election night party, complete with red, white, and blue fun!  Choose your beer cup based on your party affiliation (or stick to white if you’d rather not advertise), enjoy great hors d’oeuvres, test your knowledge with presidential trivia, and watch election results come in from around the nation on the big screen!  We’ll be done in time to head down to the Skagit County Courthouse for local election results.

Plus, you’ll get an exclusive look at Landed Gentry’s Montreaux development at Eaglemont.  You’ll love the open floor plans and great living spaces.  Looking to build a home of your own in the future?  Landed Gentry has custom homes and lots of developments, so check them out at www.landedgentryhomes.com.
