The Skagit Young Professionals & the Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Committee are proud to announce that we have joined forces in support of the Skagit Valley Hospital Foundation’s 2008 Festival of Trees. This project was a lot of fun last year, and we hope that with your involvement, we can raise even more money for the Skagit Valley Hospital Foundation this year.
Our design team has established a goal to raise $4500+ and with your help, we can reach this goal and together we can support out community and this very worthy campaign.
This is the 20th anniversary of the Foundation’s largest event. Since its inception, 19 Festivals have raised over $2.2 million to benefit services and programs at Skagit Valley Hospital Regional Cancer Care Center.
Our theme this year is “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” and the tree will feature Marilyn Monroe memorabilia, the color pink, diamonds, and some great gift packages and luxurious getaways. These gift packages generally become the highlight of the auction. Your generous donation of a gift item or cash donation would go a long way towards creating an appealing gift package for the tree our group is designing. In return for your donation, your business will be featured as one of our generous donors for the Festival of Trees.
Please consider this request for a gift item &/or cash donation for the auction. All donations are tax deductible. Tax id #501 © 94-3078550. If you would like more information about the event, please contact the chamber office at 360-428-8547 or email kristenw@mountvernonchamber.com

The Group Study Exchange program is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for young business and professional men and women between the ages of 25 and 40 in the initial years of their professional life. Team members study the host country’s institutions and ways of life, observe their own vocations as practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas. Team members come from corporations, small businesses, community organizations, medical and educational facilities, government offices, and nonprofit agencies. GSE offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills, work on team building, and increase self-confidence. The program is designed to have an invaluable impact on the career of a young professional in the increasingly global workplace by creating networking opportunities and lifelong friendships.

Skagit Young Professionals is on fire this fall - literally! Join us at the hottest spot in town where we’ll set some things aflame, network a bit and kick the year off with a bang. It all starts at 6:00 p.m. September 2nd at Sakura in Burlington.
Probably best to keep the flammables at home for this one…
The September event is sponsored by Business Bank, your local partner with a local commitment. Everyone is talking about the national banks these days, what’s going on locally? Whats the deal with community banks anyway? Come find out what the buzz is about, and enjoy some tasty treats while you’re there!
Be sure to RSVP here. Then, you’ll be entered into a fancy drawing, exclusive for RSVPers. And if 50 of our attendees have RSVP’d, Jeremy McCullough will eat a sea urchin…
Need directions? Business Bank is located at 1854 S Burlington Blvd. in Burlington. Park in front of the bank and wander next door to Sakura. $5 for chamber members, $10 for non-members. See you there!
Join SYP for a hike up Sauk Mountain for incredible vistas of the Skagit River Valley! We will meet at Business Bank in Burlington at 10 am on Saturday, August 9, and carpool to the base of Sauk Mountain. The hike is 2.1 miles to the top, where we’ll picnic, take photos, and enjoy the lovely Skagit weather. For more information, check out the official site.
Here are directions, in case you want to meet us there around 11:
From the Highway 20 Exit, go 40 miles east on Highway 20. Turn left onto Forest Road 1030 (aka the Sauk Mountain Road) just before Rockport. Follow this gravel road 8 miles to the trailhead parking lot.
We should reach the summit by 12:30 and be back in Burlington around 2:30. Be sure to pack a lunch and plenty of water!
